Apeldoorn, June 1, 2008. Pallas Athena Gmbh, the German subsidiary of Pallas Athena has acquired the modus business unit from the IT Consulting division of TDS AG. The transaction, which becomes effective on June 1, 2008, includes all rights to modus suite software, and all customer and partner contracts. Furthermore, all modus staff will be transferred to the Pallas Athena GmbH payroll.

The acquisition will enable Pallas Athena to expand it’s Business Process Management offering into the document creation market. “More and more customers demand complete and integrated solutions. The modus business suite is an excellent addition to our BPM suite. The output of business processes are mainly printed or electronically distributed documents”,  says John Hoogland, CEO of Pallas Athena International. “We see a growing demand for solid document creation and output management solutions. The multi channel capabilities and ease of specification of modus make it a valuable component in any business driven IT architecture”.

The sale of the modus suite will enable TDS AG to focus on its core competencies. “We want to concentrate fully on our three divisions: IT Consulting, IT Outsourcing, and HR Services & Solutions,” comments Winfried Holz, TDS CEO. “We are a services company, specialized in SAP. In Pallas Athena found the ideal buyer for modus, because more than us, they are a product oriented company”, Holz continues.

modus meets BPM (business process management)

Pallas Athena produces standard software for business process management. The solution enables users to model, simulate, automate and monitor business processes. The company will continue to develop the modus suite and plans to release a new version, modus 5, in the first quarter of 2009. “We are really looking forward to collaborate with TDS employees – and being able to offer new and existing customers real value added as a result of this acquisition,” states John Hoogland.

Moreover, Thomas Jürgens, Head of IT Consulting at TDS is convinced that, with Pallas Athena, modus is in safe hands: “Pallas Athena is a sound business, it is expanding, and – particularly in Germany – there is clear evidence of further growth. This results in a firm foundation for our team, our modus customers, and the software itself.”
